Our Member Of The Day was Akinwale @hrh_akinwale 🎉!!!!
About a year ago, Akinwale joined our journey, discovering the many benefits of the great outdoors as a member of the BSA. Inspired by his experience, he suggested to our leadership team that many members of his church, especially young people, might be unaware of these benefits.
After some back and forth with parents, Akinwale eventually convinced them to come and experience the outdoors firsthand. This past Saturday, he successfully brought about 20 people along. It was a joy to see how much they enjoyed the outdoor activities while also learning about how our daily actions impact the environment and, ultimately, the climate.
This is why we exist: to educate our community about responsible access to nature and how quality time outdoors can benefit mental well-being. Akinwale exemplified that mission on Saturday!

@talesbyjosh & @upclassic were at The Scottish Parliament recently to receive our confirmation of Black Scottish Adventurers being a finalist at the Nature of Scotland Awards 2024 🌿🎉
They met so many organisations and businesses in the environment space who are doing some fantastic work and what was obvious is the successes being delivered when businesses collaborate with non profits to drive meaningful and impactful change👏🏽🌿
We are finalists in the Health & Wellbeing Category and this speaks to the amount of work we do here in Scotland around supporting individuals to become more physically, financially and mentally healthy💙🌿
They met with Anne McCall, the director of @rspb.scotland and a chance to tell her well done for putting all this awards together👏🏽👏🏽.
